Brittany Imperadeiro Registered Psychologist #7538
Working in mental health, I recognize my privilege and am honoured to potentially be a part of your journey. While I have expertise in mental health, I realize that I am not an expert in you. Working with me means that I see you as the expert of your lived experiences and want you to be in control of how your story is told and what healing looks like for you. My aim is to work with you and meet you where you are at so we can figure out what is working, what needs to change, and how we can get there together. After all, this is your journey. Counselling with me is a collaborative process where your voice, opinions, and experiences matter, are important, and are valid.
As a registered psychologist, I mainly practice from a trauma-informed and humanistic perspective, with a mixed approach to help meet your needs. I want you to feel empowered in this process and build confidence in yourself, because while I would love to have clients for life I recognize that that isn’t realistic. I have experience and work with children and youth from the ages of 4 and up and work with adults. I have a background in supporting trauma, sexual violence, chronic illnesses, body image, and neurodivergent experiences.
Being trauma-informed means that I recognize that sometimes our life experiences shapes and changes the way we experience things, that trauma/stress can change our healing process, and may mean you need more time to build that trust between each other. But I am willing to build that trust so that together we can bring you closer to your goals and the life you want. Please come however you need to (even in pajamas and slippers if you want!), because ultimately I’m just really glad you’re here taking this step.
